I am deeply honored to announce my re-election as Chairman of the Green Award Foundation for another three-year term, extending my tenure until 2028. This reappointment, which took place during the Foundation’s Board of Directors meeting in Amsterdam, is a profound moment of pride for me as I become one of the longest-serving Chairman in the 30-year history of this distinguished environmental organization.

Having served as Chairman of the Green Award Foundation since 2015, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Board of Directors for their trust and unwavering support in granting me the opportunity to continue leading the Foundation.

GREEN AWARD has consistently supported and promoted quality shipping, firmly believing that responsible owners should be rewarded in the marketplace. Green Award has pioneered practical incentives for quality owners and their ships and has received international recognition and acclaim for its innovative approach.

 As Chairman, I am committed to further strengthening this legacy.

On this Occasion, allow me to acknowledge three key contributors to Green Award’s success:

My congratulations to the sea staff, the Owners and the managers of the participating ships for the exemplary service they provide. Their dedication to high standards is inspiring.

My deepest appreciation to the exceptional team of surveyors, the management team and administrators at Bureau Green Award for their ongoing efforts to make Green Award a globally accepted system. Their professionalism and commitment to maintaining and sustaining high standards over the years have been exemplary.

A heartfelt thank you to the ports and organizations that offer financial incentives by providing discounts on their fees to the certificate holders. These entities have committed themselves to supporting the rigorous performance standards of Green Award, making them crucial contributors to our shared mission.

The Green Award Foundation has been a global pioneer in promoting sustainability, environmental protection, and excellence in the maritime industry. For three decades, it has recognized and rewarded vessels, shipping companies, and other maritime stakeholders for their exceptional environmental performance and dedication to safety standards.

As Chairman, I remain steadfast in my dedication to serving the mission and vision of the Green Award Foundation. Together with the Board, our partners, and all stakeholders, I will continue to work tirelessly to build a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.
